Prologue
Two days have passed since Sungmin broke up with his girlfriend of 3 years.
Sungmin is still on his bed when his friend, Donghae, pounded on the door, shouting "Hyung, it's 12 in the afternoon you better get out of your room! It’s been two days! Seriously!"
"Leave me alone," Sungmin replied.
There was silence and Sungmin thought Donghae had given up his attempts to make him get out of the room when suddenly, he saw the door fly open and an angry dongsaeng move towards him.
"Hyung, you need fresh air!" Donghae said, pulling Sungmin out of his bed and dropping all of his stuffed bunnies on the floor.
"Fine! Fine!" Sungmin replied.
Donghae perked up, saying that they will go to the mall to the park and everywhere that was ‘fun’.
"Fun," Sungmin repeated sarcastically, heading towards the bathroom.
It was 2PM when they reached the SM Mall. Donghae pulled Sungmin to different stores. Worn out and needing to go to the bathroom, Donghae told Sungmin to wait at the lounge on the middle of the mall.
A few minutes passed since Donghae had gone to the bathroom and Sungmin decided to wonder around a bit.
He entered what looked like a movie rental store called SJ. A tall, dark haired guy greeted Sungmin
"Welcome," he said.
Sungmin smiled and bowed to the guy and he smiled back at him, showing his gums. Sungmin went to different racks of movies; old ones, newly released ones. He picked up a DVD that say ‘Once’ on the cover. This was the last movie we saw together, he thought to himself, getting deeper within his thoughts when he heard a familiar screeching voice.
"EUNHYUKKIEEEE!" shouted Donghae when he entered the store.
Sungmin can't help but look at his friend who is now hugging the person so called ‘Eunhyukkie’.
"Hae, what brings you here?" asked Eunhyuk.
"Well, I'm looking for my friend and he is there," Hae replied pointing at Sungmin.
"Hi," said Sungmin, confused.
"Oh! Well, Min hyung this is Eunhyuk, my classmate," Hae told Sungmin. "Hyukkie, this is my friend Sungmin hyung. He just moved here to Korea last week," said Hae.
"Annyong, Sungmin hyung" Eunhyuk bowed. So he was the guy that greeted me earlier Sungmin thought.
"Ya! Hyukjae, I didn't hire you to chitchat all day," came a voice behind a counter.
He’s a big guy, Sungmin thought.
"Kangin hyung," Donghae greeted.
"Annyong, Donghae." greeted Kangin.
"And who is he?" he asked.
"This is Sungmin hyung. He just moved from U.S." replied Donghae.
Sungmin smiled at the man behind the counter. "Hae? Did I hear the name ‘Hae’?" came a voice from the back door.
He is tall, fit and his smile shows his dimples, Sungmin thought.
"OMO! Donghae, long time no see." the guy said to Donghae.
"Hyung, we just met yesterday," replied Donghae.
"Say no more! Oh, and who is this young man here?" the guy pointed at Sungmin.
Donghae sighed because it was probably the 100th time he had introduced Sungmin.
"Hyung, this is Sungmin, fresh from America, okay?" said Donghae.
"Well, hello there, Sungmin my name is Leeteuk, but everyone calls me Teukie." Smiled Eeteukie.
"Hi," replied Sungmin.
"Ya! Get to work people!" shouted Kangin.
"Oh, please Kangin. It's not like we have costumers anyways." said Eeteukie.
Kangin pouted at Eeteukie and looked away.
"Omo, Kangin you’re such a baby, mianhae." said Eeteukie.
Everyone was so caught up with their conversations that they had forgotten about Sungmin. Which is a good thing, Sungmin thought.
He went back to the DVD racks and picked out a case entitled ‘500 Days of Summer’.
"That’s a sad story but the ending adds a twist to it," someone from behind said.
When Sungmin turned back, his heart skipped a beat as he saw a good looking man with dark brown eyes and a smile that was just to die for.
"Oh," was all Sungmin can say.
"Hyung, lets go." said Donghae.
"Oh, hey, Kyuhyun! I didn't know you work here," he added.
"I work part time, hyung." Kyuhyun replied.
"That's nice. Well, Min hyung, let's go. I bet you want to go home and cry on your bed again," Donghae said.
"Cry?" Kyuhyun asked, confused.
Sungmin elbowed Donghae’s stomach.
"Oh, it's nothing," replied Sungmin. "Well, anyways; nice meeting you, Kyuhyun." smiled Sungmin.
"You too, Sungmin hyung," replied Kyuhyun.
